Huckleberry Homestead is a family-owned and operated Virginia homestead offering fresh, seasonal and handcrafted products for customers who want locally grown herbs, plants, produce and specialty goods.
Our Offerings
From potted culinary herbs, flowering plants and medicinal herb plants to microgreens, fresh herbs, dried culinary spices, loose-leaf tea blends, eggs, honey, honeycomb and baby chicks, Huckleberry Homestead brings together a wide variety of homestead-grown and handmade offerings in one place.
Customers can also shop for beeswax molds, scented candles, colorful candles, lip balm, seasonal handcrafted soaps, handcrafted tobacco pipes and forged items made at Huckleberry Homestead.
Find us and all the products on our website, including handmade tobacco pipes and items from our forge, at Greene Farmers Market in the off-season and at Albemarle Farmers Market from May through mid-September.
Many products are available year-round, and customers may also call to arrange convenient pickup of products directly from Huckleberry Homestead.

2026 Seasonal and Monthly Egg Shares:
Half share: 10 dozen eggs for $47.50 ($4.75/dz)
Full share: 20 dozen eggs $90 ($4.50/dz)

- Pick up your eggs as you need them from now through September 12th

- 5% discount on the cost of next season’s share for returning shareholders
- Monthly egg pickup in the off-season when our ladies slow their egg-laying
Produce
Huckleberry Homestead sells produce grown on our homestead and harvested in season. Availability may vary throughout the year, but customers can expect fresh, local products picked with care and offered as the seasons allow. Fresh produce may be purchased at the farmers market or by contacting us to arrange pickup.

We have a variety of 3″ potted vegetable plants available for $3 each. You may purchase plants by contacting us or by stopping by the farmers market.

We offer a variety of edible culinary, medicinal, flowering and tea herbs in 3-inch pots for $3 each. Many of these plants have more than one use, making them a practical and enjoyable addition to your garden, kitchen or home landscape. Each plant is identified as a perennial, annual or biennial so you can easily see its growing habits and expected life cycle. Plants may be purchased by contacting us directly or by stopping by the farmers market.

Availability will vary by season and harvest, and customers may purchase dried herbs at the farmers market or by contacting us to arrange pickup.

Chicks
Rhode Island Red chicks are now available! Rhode Island Red chicks are a popular breed known for hardiness, steady growth and dependable egg production. These chicks are a good choice for those who want to start or grow a backyard flock with a breed that is both practical and easy to raise. Availability may vary, so please contact us or visit us at the farmers market for current information and purchasing details.
Microgreens
Huckleberry Homestead will soon offer fresh microgreens, grown with care and harvested at just the right time for peak flavor, color and nutrition. These tender young greens are a simple way to add something fresh and beautiful to everyday meals. Sprinkle them on salads, sandwiches, soups, eggs, avocado toast or your favorite main dish for a bright finishing touch. This week’s offerings:
